02/23/03- Ultimate Muscle CCG Variants Found!

Thanks to Ray Rapapport of the Kinnikuman email group for his keen eye. He noticed that the UM-12 the King Muscle (Kinnikuman Suguru) card came in both Red and Blue foil letterings. His red foil came from a Terry Kenyon pack, while the blue came from a Suguru package. I checked through my own CCG's and also found the same to be true with Ramenman and the Kinniku-Buster cards. I added the info to the CCG page.

01/03/03- One episode of Ultimate Muscle tomorrow

One episode, and a re-run at that. Now for those of you naysayers, consider this:

Re-running the full series up to where we left off will give those who are just starting and those who missed some, a healthy chance to catch up!
We ended at episode 26, which is half of the 52.
Now they are doing re-runs, which will undoubtedly lead to a broader fan base, which will in turn generate more income for 4Kids, Bandai and the FoxBox, which will in turn get us more toys and possibly more than the original 52 episodes.
Maybe even a second season created based on the popularity of the US release. Who knows how big this could be? Pokemon, Digimon, YuGiOh? I expect at least as big as Poke-Me-Mon (if they ever fix the card game rules, that is).
All I know is that in the end the winners will be the die hard Kinnikuman/M.U.S.C.L.E. fans who had petitioned for and have finally gotten more toys based on the original lines.

11/15/02- New Bandai Kinnikuman Nisei game to show up in the US!

Reliable sources have informed us that games based on the kids' TV anime series Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy, which appears on FoxBox, will be debuting on the U.S. GameCube and GBA soon.
The GC game, which has popped up on Bandai's Japanese release schedule, is a wrestling game -- which goes along with the show, which is a wrestling cartoon. Back in the 80s, the toys based on this series' predecessor -- known as M.U.S.C.L.E. -- were exceptionally popular, and Bandai even published an NES game here based on the license.

Toyfair Magazine has had some nice sneak peaks at the new line to come. You can see pictures and read a little HERE and HERE. The small figures will be based on the old M.U.S.C.L.E. line, in that they will be small, plastic, non-articulated and CHEAP! A pack of 15 is supposed to retail for around $4.99!

I've seen this article of a pro-wrestling match hold
on the day of Halloween on a couple of Kinnikuman related
HP and BBS.

We know that many of you have different views on the atrocities of September 11, 2001 and the aftermath that followed. We at the AKIA wish to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist activities of last year, and salute those who gave their lives in the attempt to save others. We know, that this being the one year anniversary of the decimation of the World Trade Center towers, that many wish to express their concerns, opinions and reflections of the event. And we invite you to share them on the AKIA Message Board. God Bless America, and may he grant peace to those suffering on this day.

09/01/02- Okay, okay, I was wrong.........

I just saw "What's inside the Fox Box, and I have to say. Ultimate Muscle is going to ROCK!
Sure, the storyline is kind of hokey, and the theme song is downright terrible. And Meat (niku) now sounds like Danny Devito on steroids, instead of his usual sailor moon, kindergarten girl sounding self. But the animation is AWESOME! The action is INTENSE! And the baddies, well they're just BAD!

So yes, I was wrong. It looks like the American rendering of our beloved Kinnikuman will be quite dope!

I know where I'll be Saturday mornings, from 9:30 to 11:00. Inside the Fox Box!

08/31/02- Fox Box at TRU

Okay, stop in at your local Toys R Us and ask for a Fox Box. It's free and has previews, stickers and lots of kewl stuff, including some more info on the new Kinnikuman Ultimate Muscle cartoon starting Sept 14th. The website also will launch to coincide with the 'toon. It can be found at http://www.foxbox.tv/muscle_p.html .

The good news... the graphics and animation are totally sweet!

The bad news....  if you are over the age of 6, the storyline appears to be really lame. I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem to keep in line with the Japanese KG2 story that much, except for cowardice and flatulence. We'll see.

Hell, even if the cartoon isn't enjoyable by our expectations, at least we can look forward to a SWEET toyline!

08/26/02- Huge layout mix up!

Spent all day Sunday working on the basic layout of the site to make it more user friendly and logical. Added some new sections also, in preparation of the cartoon in a few weeks. Got some big plans for the cartoon. Enjoy!

08/19/02- Kinnikuman Comics coming to the States in English!

My wife was reading in a Japanese entertainment magazine that Jump Comics Selection Japan will be releasing a monthly manga in English in the USA! For those of you not familiar with Jump, they put out a weekly thick comic book in Japan with a ton of different comics inside. Each week there is a new chapter etc (kind of like the comics in the newspaper, only a lot longer). Well, kinnikuman is released through Jump comics, as well as stuff like Dragon Ball Z et.... The article said that kinnikuman would be part of this, but it did not say if it was Generation 2 or not.
The article mentioned the popularity of Japanese manga overseas, and said that the comic should do well. It said that Dragon Ball is really popular in the us, and the manga in English would be popular. It said that the comic would be sold at comic book stores, as well as large book stores.

08/01/02- Well it looks like Bandai has a new Kinnikuman Wrestling game in the works for the Game Cube. http://e.goo.ne.jp/game/content/PGMNTPDbnd02017/index.asp From what I gather from the translator software, it is still in the early development stage, but will feature the original Kinnikuman line vs. the Kinnikuman 2nd Generation line up. Thanks to Andy AuYeung for the tip!

and was extremely impressed with the amount of information you
have accumulated there. 

Here are some information that may help your HP. 

The Royal Survivor Saga was animated.  The series
lasted from 1991.10.6-1992.9.27 and has 46 episodes. 
Some voices were changed, and Terry and Robin's voices
are the among changed. 

Also, Ramenman animated series had only 35 episodes and
one movie.  The TV series was aired between 1988.1-1988.9,
and the movie was released on July of the same year. 

I really hope the Con will be successful, and your HP would
be prosper.

Who knows ... if Kinnikuman Second Generations takes off and is featured at a toy-con, maybe we'll be there pushing our MUSCLE Hobby!  As always ... we'll keep you posted!

04/20/02- Hey guys, no news today, but we do have an awesome tip from RubzOne. How many of you have a few Kinnikuman/MUSCLE figures that are bent funny, or just won't stand up? Well here's the solution....

"Dunno if most of you guys already know this but I was just going through my collection and doing some maintenance and I stumbled across a cool technique.
Ever had problems with certain figures that won't stay standing? This should help:

1. You will need to do this next to a sink.

2. Grab a hair dryer and heat up your figure, not too much, just enough to make it soft and pliable, the rubber should be semi-warm to hot.

3. Once your figure is hot and soft enough to pose, immediately position him in the sink under the faucet, maintaining pressure on the top of his head/torso, forcing it into a standing position.

4. Once you are satisfied with the way he's standing, hold him in position and turn on the COLD water, letting it run over him for about a minute. This should reset the figure in a perfect standing position.

The best thing about this trick is that you can do it as many times as you need, until you get it right, I have already used it on 10 figures and I'm just about done. If you do this right, they will stand perfect every time guaranteed. Happy posing guys :)"

John- 4kids' website gave more details on the Kinnikuman anime to be shown in the US! they're going to show the 2nd generation anime- which'll be interesting, since the manga for that is more obscene than the first series!

RubzOne- This should be interesting, they are airing the Kinnikuman series on Fox Kids... Ok I see a pattern here. They rehashed Transformers and released a series which holds truer to the roots of the original Transformers, not that shitty Beast Wars crap. Guess what followed next? The toy line, all featuring toys that resembled the original Transformers. Now they are going to air Kinnikuman on Fox kids... see where I'm going with this? Can you smell a new wave of Kinnikuman toys to accompany the series-aimed at sucking more kids into collecting little figures just like the Digimon and Pokemon series did. Could be a good day for all us MuscleHeads...

03/25/02- Our friends over at ToriyamaWorld have translated most of the Kinnikuman Manga. You can go HERE, and download a zip file that has the page pictures, with the translations typed on them.! AWESOME!!!!

03/25/02- Check out these new Kinnikuman figures. Just released (actually they were released late January). They are Kinnikuman Second Generation, with a few new guys that I've never seen before. Kewl! Check 'em out! Also, the translated names are on the picture, thanks to Taka Kurosaka!

Apparently, it's already airing in Japan since Late 2001. Kinnikuman is almost here.
